If I can't hear the music, and the audience is gone,

I'll dance here on my own.

You know you're obsessed with musical theater when, while on your way home from Chicago, drive through Gary, Indiana and start singing the song from The Music Man. And are more excited about Gary than you were about Chicago:)

(This happened to me yesterday!)

-When you collect theatre programs -- even if you haven't seen the show they came from.

-When you fantasize about different Broadway actors and actresses and what might happen if you met them.

-When you're waiting rather impatiently for eight o'clock so that you can have more musical-themed discussions with your best friend.

-When you freaked out upon realizing you share both your hair color and eye color with Davis Gaines.

There are many bodies of water in this world;

Yet none would quench my thirst for you.

When you automatically think of Miss Saigon after realizing you have a crush on a guy with the name Chris.

Why not forget about being normal and live for him?

You know you're obsessed with musical theatre when the first thing you do on any stage, big or small, is burst into a spontaneous song and dance choreographed from one of your favorite broadway musicals(and your friends join in).

... when you gloat over your collection of rare original Broadway cast albums on vinyl from musicals the average person has never heard of.

... when you are watching a Mission: Impossible episode rerun and recognize the melody to "The Lady Was Made to Be Loved" from Bruce Geller's musical version of All in Love, which you have in the above-mentioned collection. AND, you can sing the words! NOTE: Geller regularly wrote episodes for M:I.

... when you think that Fritz Weaver should be listed among the greats who played Sherlock Holmes because of his performance in Baker Street~again, one of those albums in you-know-what.

I would be delighted to hear that there are fans of these musicals, as well as Tom Jones, based on Henry Fielding's novel; and Maggie Flynn, starring then-real-life husband and wife Jack Cassidy and Shirley Jones.
