Updating, although most of this list still rings true...
Sweeney Todd: Mrs. Lovett. I know a lot of girls on here say they'd LOVE to, but, seriously? I am infatuated with this role and used her for inspiration for another role I was trying out for.
Rent: Joanne. I used to be in Camp Maureen staunchly... And then I saw the stage play. Damn, Joanne. You are officially my new favorite female character. Oh, and if I was a guy, no questions asked, I would want to be Mark or Angel. Actually, I read somewhere that Angel can be played by a girl...? Ah, well. Angel's self explanatory. But Mark is love. Mark is me, really. Glasses, behind the camera, watching and recording what my friends do....
Jesus Christ Superstar: Mary Magdalene. Sorry, sis! But you know how much I adore "I Don't Know How to Love Him". ;)
My Fair Lady: Eliza. Saw the film last year and read "Pygmalion" several times this year. I love the premise of the story-- and the character arc for Eliza is fascinating. Although, I gotta tell you, if I was a guy, I'd wanna be Higgins. The songs didn't strike me as vocally challenging, but the snarkiness in him that slowly becommes affection or (dare I say it?) love for Eliza is fascinating... An element George Bernard Shaw omitted from the original, interestingly enough....
