Lon Chaney Phantom Sound/3D DVD?  Post [1]

Hi everyone. I'm new to the forum - I had been a frequent poster on a couple other Phantom forums but never on The Phantom's Opera.

I'm hoping someone on here could tell me if they've seen the sound/3D version of Lon Chaney's Phantom of the Opera? It was just released onto DVD (not sure when, but I don't think it was longer than a few weeks ago). I'm interested in picking it up but haven't yet read any reviews. If someone has seen it please let me know. Can't find much about it on other forums either.

Thanks...

As far as I know some Phans are going to order the DVD ( not sure if someone has already seen it).

I've seen it, and will be reviewing it on my Phantom Reviews channel on Youtube/blip.tv in a month or so.

There is a review on my forum at http://phantomreviews.proboards.com/...ead=355&page=1

In summary, I thought the 3D was pretty poor, not worth buying for the 3d at all (although there is a rival 3d edition coming soon that looks much more promising), however the "talkie" aspect was fun and made for a very interesting alternate version, made it feel more like a 1930s b movie than a 1920s silent. Worth checking out, and has some good bonus materials.
